In this workshop for all skill levels, you will explore the amazing way dye flows on silk and learn to contain and manipulate that wonderful action in order to create brilliantly colored images. You will learn about the dyes, the soy wax and the silk. We will begin with some simple exercises that will help you to understand the wax, its properties and its purpose as you build your painting layer upon layer. By workshop’s end you will have several samples and either a completed painting suitable for framing or a gorgeous scarf. Come and experience the movement and fluidity and brilliant colors that are the hallmarks of this art form.
